Design Foundry | Hyattsville, Maryland

Full-Time | Primarily On-Site | $85,000–$100,000 Annually

About Design Foundry

Design Foundry is a creative design and production company specializing in live events, experiential environments, branded installations, and custom scenic design.

Our work spans corporate events, galas, conferences, exhibitions, and large-scale installations. We combine creativity, design expertise, and in-house fabrication to transform ideas into memorable physical experiences.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a talented and imaginative 3D Event Designer with at least 5 years of professional experience to join our creative team.

We're seeking a designer with exceptional creative judgment and a sophisticated design sensibility—someone who brings original ideas, makes thoughtful aesthetic decisions, and consistently produces compelling visual work.

The ideal candidate combines strong conceptual thinking with excellent 3D visualization skills and can independently develop creative ideas into distinctive, memorable environments.

We're looking for more than technical proficiency. We value originality, attention to detail, a refined aesthetic, and a genuine passion for design.

What You'll Do

Conceptualize and design creative environments for live events, corporate functions, galas, exhibitions, and branded experiences.

Independently develop original design concepts, spatial layouts, and immersive environments.

Create detailed 3D models and high-quality, photorealistic renderings.

Explore innovative uses of materials, textures, color, lighting, and architectural elements.

Develop compelling visual presentations that communicate creative concepts to clients.

Collaborate with the creative team, project managers, and production staff to bring ideas to life.

Refine and elevate designs based on creative direction and client feedback.

Manage multiple projects while maintaining consistently high design standards.

Prepare print-ready graphics based on approved designs and coordinate files with print vendors as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in event design, experiential design, scenic design, or a closely related creative field.

Exceptional design sensibility, with a strong understanding of composition, proportion, color, materials, and lighting.

Demonstrated ability to develop original creative concepts and make strong, independent design decisions.

Strong 3D modeling and visualization skills.

Proficiency in Autodesk 3ds Max and V-Ray preferred.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Strong visual storytelling and presentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven creative environment.

A background in architecture, interior design, industrial design, or environmental design is welcome.

Portfolio Required

A portfolio showcasing past professional design projects is mandatory.

We're particularly interested in seeing original concepts, event environments, stage designs, scenic installations, and high-quality 3D visualizations.

Your portfolio should demonstrate your creativity, aesthetic judgment, design process, and ability to develop visually distinctive environments.

We value portfolios that demonstrate original thinking, sophisticated composition, and a consistent level of design excellence, rather than technical rendering skills alone.

Why Join Design Foundry?

At Design Foundry, you'll work on a diverse range of creative projects, collaborate with an experienced design and production team, and see your concepts come to life.

We value originality, strong design thinking, collaboration, and attention to detail.

Location: Hyattsville, Maryland
Schedule: Full-time, primarily in-office with occasional work-from-home flexibility
Compensation: $85,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and portfolio
